Gator forward or reverse complaint

Had a Gator roll in today with the complaint: "no forward or reverse." At first, I thought maybe linkage or a simple switch issue, but nope, turned out to be deeper, I'm still tracing it down, but figured I'd toss it out here, so is anyone familiar with this on the Gator, need to know what the usual suspects are before I go full teardown mode. Appreciate any tips or war stories

I'd start with the drive belt and the transmission, but check the PTO too

I would also pay close attention to the primary and secondary clutches for wear or failure if yours is a CVT model.

Start by checking the alignment of the shift linkage. After that, try shifting it manually at the transmission. If you've got a CVT model, double-check that the primary clutch isn't stuck in the engaged position. It could also be an issue with a broken shift pawl or collar inside there.

By the way, which model and transmission setup are you dealing with?

If it's not the belt or linkage, it should only be the clutches or maybe even a sheared key on the transmission input shaft. Let us know what model you're working with, that'll help narrow it down.
